MONTEBELLO, Los Angeles County — October 25, 2026. Riders of Montebello Bus Lines should check their trip before leaving: the city’s official Transit and Rider Alerts page lists a Line 30 detour tied to the October 25 Pumpkin Run, with a posted notice period of October 23–25.

What the Line 30 alert actually says

The municipal notice attributes the detour to a Garfield Avenue street closure for the Pumpkin Run and says Line 30 buses will be detoured between Commonwealth Avenue and Alhambra Road. It does not identify every alternative stop or give a reliable end-of-day restoration time. Riders should not assume that their regular stop remains served or that the route has already returned to normal on Sunday evening.

Separate Line 10 stop closure

The same official transit page lists an eastbound Whittier/Painter service stop closure on Line 10 due to construction, with dates September 28 through November 1. That is a different disruption from the one-day Pumpkin Run event. Passengers traveling after October 25 should still check the Line 10 stop notice.

Where to confirm a bus before leaving

The city’s Montebello Bus Lines page provides a real-time bus map, a text-only bus tracker, schedule links and Rider Alerts. Choose the relevant route and confirm its current stop service rather than relying on the scheduled arrival of a normally operating route. For further information, Montebello Transit publishes its telephone number as (323) 558-1625 and its email address as ridembl@montebelloca.gov.

Other local travel options

Montebello Bus Lines also administers Montebello LINK, a shuttle connecting the Montebello Metrolink station with employment centers in surrounding communities, and Dial-A-Taxi for eligible seniors and people with disabilities. These are separate programs, with their own service and eligibility rules; the Line 30 detour notice does not imply that LINK or Dial-A-Taxi routes are affected.

Montebello News will keep transit service notices distinct from official confirmations of restored operations. Residents can send verified stop updates and corrections to the newsroom.
