MONTEBELLO, Los Angeles County — Montebello operates a Dial-A-Taxi program costing $1 per ride for eligible residents age 62 and older and qualifying residents with disabilities of any age.
Who must register?
The city requires prospective riders to submit an eligibility application to Montebello Transit. Qualified applicants receive an identification card to show when using the service. Residency and age or disability requirements are mandatory program conditions.
Where can trips go?
The city describes standard service within Montebello and certain qualifying medical trips outside city limits within a designated service boundary. The service description says eligible riders can request vehicles equipped with wheelchair lifts as needed during scheduling.
Is the service available around the clock?
The Senior Citizen Services page describes Dial-A-Taxi availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but riders must still follow reservation procedures and confirm whether a requested pickup is available.
Who can help?
Contact the Transit Division at (323) 558-1625, 400 S. Taylor Avenue, for eligibility forms, service boundaries and current arrangements. Dial-A-Taxi is not the same as unrestricted rideshare service or the region’s Access paratransit.
